The volume presents the archietctural heritage of Veszprém in a diverse yet unified visual framework. The visual core of the book consists of a graphic transcription of the details of the tiny buildings and motifs of a town rich in monuments. These motifs are echoed on the cover and chapter dividers, and in a striking composite pattern on the book's dust jacket. The colour scheme of the book is inspired by the colour world of the city's characteristic buildings and the book's photographic material, creating a coherent atmosphere. The colours used also serve to mark the chapters, and in many cases archival photographs and maps are used as backgrounds, giving an even richer picture of the city's past and architecture.

 

The choice of typography is striking yet appropriately understated, complementing the photographic pages well and giving the book a unique character. The focus of the book is clearly on the photographic material, which, complemented by a classic layout, makes for an elegant and enjoyable reading experience.
